Activities at the Barrydale Farm

The Overberg region has a way of uplifting your soul and relaxing your mind. Connect with locals and reconnect with your loved ones in the heart of all the R62 excitement, in an endlessly beautiful area that you cannot help falling in love with.

During your stay at Absolutely Wild, you will have access to an amazing variety of activities on our farm. All these attractions are just a short walk away from your accommodation, so you can explore without limits and will have no shortage of fun things to do. As a family-friendly farm, we have thought of everything and aim to inspire unforgettable holiday moments in the wild.

Swimming Pools & Slides

Summer loving is easy when you are with us! We have created a sanctuary of excitement for guests who love swimming and slides. Enjoy our huge outdoor pool (25 x 8 meters in size) for infinite fun under the sun, or our enclosed heated pool (12 x 5) on cooler days. There are 5 slides and 3 speed slides as well, for fun swimming adventures!

Additionally, there is a separate swimming pool and slide for kids, where the fun doesn’t stop and the laughter is contagious. Best of all? Only Absolutely Wild guests have access to the pools and slides on our farm, so it is never too busy to fully enjoy.

Restaurant

There’s nothing like a good meal to fuel your holiday energy. We know this too well, and have put love and care into creating a menu that reflects the Klein Karoo and our love for Africa. Our chef-led farm kitchen is open to guests of Absolutely Wild from morning till night, for scrumptious breakfasts, drinks with friends, or hearty dinners with loved ones.

Our chef specialises in perfection, and serves up incredible dishes that include flavourful potjiekos, ribs, and brisket. You can also feast on wood-fired pizzas and hamburgers, or join for a South African favourite – a traditional, mouthwatering spit braai. The restaurant on our farm can seat up to 160 guests, and you don’t have to pre-book – simply step inside and be ready for great food and good company.

Please note – Restaurant opening hours: Our farm kitchen is open every weekend, and every day during high season. On weekdays outside of high season, opening depends on occupancy, so please give us a call ahead of time to check whether we’ll be serving – we’d love to have you at our table.

Play Area

There is nothing subtle or small about our kids’ play area! We have pulled out all the stops to ensure our youngest guests have the best time. Measuring at 850 square meters, this is the largest playpark in the Southern Hemisphere, where fun has no boundaries!

The indoor and outdoor playpark at Absolutely Wild features an incredible obstacle course, where children can climb, swing, and jump into foam blocks. There is a large ball pit and a separate, smaller one for toddlers. Our indoor trampoline park and soft ball air gun are huge hits with the kids, while jumping castles and waterslides make summer days even better!

We believe children should never be bored, and you’ll soon realise that boredom is impossible when you’re staying at Absolutely Wild. The playpark is only available to guests’ enjoying accommodation with us, so there will always be plenty of space to enjoy.

Outdoor Adventures

There is something about the Klein Karoo and Route 62 that calls for daring adventures and thrilling activities. We feel it, too! As a guest on our farm, you can book extra activities (priced separately) such as e-biking to appease your sense of excitement and get your blood pumping.

Other outdoor adventures include buffalo feeding (popular with little ones), walking trails, and mountain biking trails. Admire nature and the stunning surroundings at your own pace, and appreciate the quiet beauty of the great outdoors.
